Don't Mind Control is super excited to welcome to play in Birmingham for the first time Caslean....

Caslean is a London-based art-indie meets bubble-pop singer, songwriter, and producer. Influenced by Shibuya-kei, her music merges disco, synth-pop, dream-pop, and delivers a distinct vocal style. She defined her music as ‘Bubble Core’ and ‘Philosophy of Naivety’. While Caslean typically handles the intricate work behind the scenes—composition, arrangement, and sometimes mixing—she insists on using a simple karaoke set during her performances. This choice allows audiences to immerse themselves in the texture of her voice and appreciate the originality of her production, creating an experience that celebrates the balance between imperfection and sincerity.
Another feature of Caslean is her unique visual appearance, which holds equal importance to her
music during performances. This visual aspect helps create a romantic atmosphere and express
her shyness to the audience. Described as 'Deconstructed', 'Soft-core', and colorful, these fashion aesthetics resonate her music seamlessly. She has done performance in not only venues and
clubs, but also on boat, galleries, city radios, cafes, record shops, indie bookshops and even rollerskating space. In the UK, she supported established musicians like Lewis Ofman, Commuted, Yuxin Lei (雷⾬⼼), Joe Little ect. whereas in Japan, she played with musicians like Yuka Mizuhara, Miles Robbins etc

Also playing is experimental composer-performer Andy Ingamels who has "filled taxis with recorder players reading traffic lights as notation, played gold-painted pianos overflowing with buckets of red wallpaper paste, invented the game of violin cricket, and been tickled by improvisers playing my ticklish body as a musical instrument."

There will also be a duo between composer-improvisers James McIlwrath and Si Paton. If you know, you know ;)
