Green Mind and Cambridge Junction have been working together to bring you some of the freshest artists in the music industry.
We're excited to announce a special one-day event across all three of our spaces showcasing bands that are new, raw, and boundary pushing.
Don't miss out on your opportunity to discover some of the most thrilling live acts on the scene.
Welcome to Shiny New Model.
Featuring:
Dream Wife
Exuberant, energetic and deeply committed to a party, but also powerful advocates for the disposessed, Dream Wife are one of the finest live acts in the country right now
Porij
On the surface you see bouncy pop-electronica, but dig deeper and there are deep seams of melody and a deft touch for off kilter rhythms. Having seen them smash it out of the park at SXSW we had to book them.
Opus Kink
Channelling the sleazy vibes of The Bad Seeds and The Birthday Party, but with an accessibility and energy that's all of their own. Honking horns skim across chunky guitars and vocals that veer between world weary and righteous anger. Essential.
Ugly
Cambridge's Ugly are a multi-headed shapeshifting hydra of a band. Starting out as a scrappy punk band, they've metamorphosized into a mad mix of choral choirs, post rock, folk influences and post punk.
Night Tapes
Woozy, layered shoegaze and dream pop is the order of the day for London's Night Tapes. With big punchy electronica mixed in amongsts the textured guitars, we think they might be the sleeper hit of the day.
Oozes
A riot of colour and sound, laced with f*** you attitude and strident gender politics, expect a sizeable moshpit and scrappy energy.
Lemondaze
Now London based, but with their routes in the CB postcode, Lemondaze bring classic shoegaze vibes to the forefront with wall of sound guitars, murmured vocals and boundless enthusiasm.
Blue Cinema
Visually striking in all blue jumpsuits and with a Cocteau Twins influence that they turn to their own advantage to produce a massive sound. One of Cambridge's most promising new bands.
Grace Calver
Grace Calver does a fine line in observational indie pop that tells tales of early 20s life and the joys and challenges that comes with it.
The None
Featuring a founding member of Bloc Party and and fronted by the force of nature that is Kaila Whyte, prepare for a pummelling set of unbridled post-hardcore.
Headcheck
Scrappy Cambridge upstarts Headcheck channel the circle pit energy of Shame and early Arctic Monkeys into joyous new shapes.
Sean Trelford
Sean might only be turning 18 in September, but his songs sound like he's lived a lifetime and have garnered industry interest far and wide. For fans of Alex G, Broken Social Scene and more.
