**WHAT'S COOKIN' IS A SEATING AND STANDING VENUE AND A SEAT IS NOT GUARANTEED, SEATING IS IS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS**

A magical and intimate concert featuring John Murry. Two masterpiece albums, a heartbreaking and astounding life story, and a new documentary, The Graceless Age, documenting this singular artist's journey. The Graceless Age: The Ballad of John Murry - The story of American singer-songwriter John Murry who was on the cusp of greatness until he became addicted to heroin, creatively exhausted, and went to Ireland a broken man….

John Murry is an American singer-songwriter known for his emotionally charged and critically acclaimed music. Born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1979, he gained recognition with his debut solo record, "The Graceless Age," released in 2013. This album received high praise from critics and music publications, establishing Murry as an artist of major stature. His music delves into themes of drugs and near-death experiences, offering a raw and introspective experience for listeners. Murry has collaborated with notable musicians and continues to captivate audiences with his dreamy falsetto and evocative lyrics. With his Mississippi roots and connection to literary figure William Faulkner, Murry's unique blend of musicality and introspection has garnered him a dedicated fan base.

“The Graceless Age” received 5 stars from MOJO magazine, UNCUT called it a “masterpiece”, both magazines included it in their Top 10 albums of the year; American Songwriter put it in their Top 5 of the year and The Guardian included it in their best of the year. The accolades rolled in and John toured the world. He entranced and devastated audiences with his raw, unfiltered live performances, and it looked like his trajectory was set, that music had won and would have the final word. But the story doesn't end there…

John Murry’s third album, ‘The Stars Are God’s Bullet Holes’ was produced by John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels, Aldous Harding, This Is the Kit) at Rockfield Studios

“A work of genius” THE GUARDIAN
“Delivers in gloriously dysfunctional bucketloads” MOJO

Former singer with C86 indie pop band, Wolfhounds, and post-rock innovators Moonshake, collaborator with Stereolab and PJ Harvey, and guitarist and vocalist with the revived Swell Maps C21, David Lance Callahan now forges a solo path, having released three recent albums of mutant folk/blues/African/post-punk on Tiny Global Productions, which have been acclaimed by audiences and critics. Latest album, ‘Down to the Marshes’, continues his invention of a personal folklore that fully applies to the modern world. It widens his sound to encompass a horn section and string quartet to underscore its strong melodies, courtesy of students from the Berklee College of Music. Recorded in Valencia, Spain, and mixed in London, the songs are still imbued with the scenes and lives of historic and contemporary London, making magical realism out of cold, hard reality.

This, however, will be a stripped-down solo performance of vocals and guitar, showcasing brand new material and some old favourites, and revealing the raw emotions that underly even his most complex arrangements.

“The year’s stand-out album for me” STEWART LEE
“A sort of modern-day pastoral” SIMON ARMITAGE
