JULIANNA RIOLINO

Alt Country Rock singer-songwriter Julianna Riolino knows how to capture and highlight beauty before it fades – just have a listen to her latest album 'All Blue' and tell us it doesn’t give you a warm glow.
Fresh from following up fellow Canadian Indie Rock band Daniel Romano’s Outfit, both as a main singer for the project and as a support artist late last year, Julianna is returning to the UK on her first full band headline tour later this year.
She spent her days running up to the release of her solo debut helping restore the stained glass windows at St. Michael’s Cathedral in Toronto.
Surrounded by symbols configured in bits of 19th century French glass, Riolino couldn’t help but reflect on her own past and the memories of pains, healing, and love strewn through it.
“It made me think about life as a balancing act, and we’re all just trying to do our best to navigate it,” she says.
That focus on morality and the stretch of time seeped naturally into Riolino’s Americana-indebted songwriting, resulting in the golden, fluid 'All Blue' album.
“If I was a painter, this would be my blue period,” she says. “I’m looking at my life, all my decisions lined up, and either atoning for them or laughing them off".
JAMES SHAKESHAFT
https://jamesshakeshaft.bandcamp.com/music
James Shakeshaft is a musician / songwriter from Leeds.
His music channels the drifting melody of John Cale’s Vintage Violence and other influences like the reverb soaked vocals of Lee Hazlewood.
With a love of songwriters who are simple and true, James brings this all together in his unique writing style, voice and use of harmony.
Over the past few years he’s played steel guitar in New Orleans’ Esther Rose’s band, touring with the likes of Pokey LaFarge as well as performing as a multi instrumentalist in local bands alongside writing and performing his own material regularly at venues like The Brudenell Social Club.
He has also performed alongside The Sadies, Kassi Valazza, Dougie Poole, Sam Burton, Florry and more.
His debut solo album ‘Snow White Dove’ was recorded during lockdown and in order to not let time run away, each song was recorded in one take.
THE PUNCHIES
The Punchies formed in 2022 in Manchester after bonding over a shared love of Garage Rock (VU, Sonics, Pretty Things) and old school Country (Jimmie Rogers, Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb).
Blending these elements together, The Punchies create a punky-tonk racket that boast infectious melodies and twang heavy licks.
