Event information

Bryde aka Sarah Howells, is a woman and an electric guitar, playing fierce and fragile songs.

Swaying from vulnerable to uncompromising within one verse and chorus, Bryde’s music is honest and furiously authentic. Fans have compared the music to acts as varied as Stevie Nicks, The Cranberries, Jeff Buckley, Lucy Dacus and even Taylor Swift.

Intrigued by psychology and the inner workings of relationships Bryde’s songs hold close a defiant and life-affirming quality.

Described as being about “entangling and unravelling” they move from tender and delicate, to tough and unforgiving.

Bryde established her ethereal indie-rock sound early on, working with producers such as Jolyon Thomas ( Royal Blood) and Bill Ryder-Jones (Saint Saviour) Radio support reflected this coming from the likes of Huw Stephens on Radio 1, 6music, playlist on BBC Radio Wales.
Over the course of three albums Bryde has opened for Rufus Wainwright, played Green Man and Latitude festivals, sold-out several London headliners, and toured Europe and the US.

Debut album Like an Island, mixed by Catherine Marks (Boy Genius, Alanis Morrisette) Third album Still, released in July 2021 was nominated for the Welsh Music Prize.
Since then Bryde has released a steady stream of songs from covers of the Tori Amos classic Silent All These Years The National’s Brainy, to recent release, Change Your Mind EP.

Jack Weston is a Sheffield singer-songwriter, formerly known as Kid Conventional. Having moved to Sheffield from Birmingham in 2007, he has become a fixture on the local scene, and in March 2024 decided to shed the mask and move forward under his own name, with new music and as many live shows as fatherhood allows. He released three singles in 2024, with more new music to follow in 2025.

In his previous guise, has played support slots for artists including Edwina Hayes, Maz O'Connor, Jon Boden, MG Boulter and Henry Parker, with a combination of poetic and bitter-sweet original songs and country and folk inspired covers of contemporary and classic songs endearing him to music lovers from all musical backgrounds.

In addition to his solo work, he has fronted the Sheffield Beatles Project since 2017, and has played a number of acclaimed, sell-out shows, bringing classic albums to life with the big band.
