Event information
Having been in a band of one kind or another for the last 30 years, Edi Johnston is fed up of set lists.
So now? – there isn’t one.
Having written countless songs over the years, he’s letting you, the audience, take control.
The show is bespoke and unique and will naturally test his ability to be able to perform and remember words and chords together like never before! Performed without the safety net of note books or crib sheets, this daredevil feat will take place with only the 4 strings of his Ukulele to assist him.
Come and be part of the audience and lend your weight to the decisions that will shape this glorious, triumphant hour of Edi’s life – or of course, you could instead just sit back and laugh at all the songs that get played!
The Edi Johnston Bit is an award-winning Musical Comedian from Nottingham (Musical Comedy Song of the Year 2022) who gigs around the Midlands in comedy and music venues & festivals. He writes all kinds of songs about the trials and tribulations of a middle-aged, ginger, tea-drinking, comfortable shoe-wearing, sport following, hiphop loving singer/songwriter. With nods to Morecambe & Wise, Victoria Wood, Bill Bailey & Tim Vine, The EJB shares his particular view on life growing up from child to parenthood within modern day UK through the oft maligned art of Ukulele Rap Musical Comedy.
He has performed at gigs and festivals up and down the country (Greenbelt, Wychwood, Splendour, Bearded Theory, Dot to Dot, Hockley Hustle festivals) and has headlined
comedy & music lineups throughout the Midlands, Yorkshire & beyond!
“He tore the roof off the place” - LaffaCake Comedy
“Songs from the everyday to the ridiculous. Just brilliant” - Harry & Chris
“Sometimes, you need a bit of laughter to pull you through. Any fans of a good brew reading this? There’s a song for you. What about gingers? He’s got an anthem for you too.” - Leftlion Magazine.
