Event Information
Impington Village College nights are always great, and this one will be no exception as we have the wonderful Bethany Black headlining!
Bethany Black is a comedian, actor and writer. She has been performing for over 20 years and has supported many acts on tour including Joe Lycett and Paul Sinha. Blessed with a sharp tongue and a desire to overshare she's been critically acclaimed for her personal, confessional style of comedy. Just as comfortable performing in a small room as in a stadium she has travelled the world and is a regular at some of the biggest clubs in the UK.
You might know her from Mock the Week or 8 out of 10 cats, but that's just your mind playing tricks, despite regularly being praised for her appearance on those shows she's never appeared on either, she has been a panelist on "Sorry I Didn't Know " (ITV) as well as "Sarah Millican's Elephant In The Room" (BBC Radio 4) and was a guest on "Rosie Jones - Box Ticker" (BBC Radio 4). She has had leading roles in television shows such as Cucumber, Banana and Tofu by Russell T Davies for Channel 4 for which she has won awards, she was also a guest star in Doctor Who and played one of the series baddies in No Offence.
"You’re onto a winner with Bethany.” **** Funny Women. **** Fest Mag.
Opener - Jacob Nussey
Jacob Nussey unassumingly draws in audiences with his deadpan style, sharp jokes, and ill-fated anecdotes with clever punchlines.
Jacob quickly established himself on the comedy circuit, after winning Bury Met Comedian of the Year and West Didsbury Comedy Festival New Act of the Year. Previously reaching the semi-finals of British Comedian of the Year and So You Think You’re Funny.
Jacob was named by Chortle as one to watch for 2023. He’s seriously funny and well worth seeing in person!
"INSANELY FUNNY, HE'LL BE A HOUSEHOLD NAME BEFORE YOU KNOW IT" - SKIDDLE
And ... Alexis Roy.
Alexis is an observational comic whose refreshingly unique slant on parenthood, marriage and increasingly awkward family encounters are told with a warmth that belies her real feelings.
Enormously relatable, Alexis is impressing audiences, her peers and promoters countrywide
MC - Chris Brooker
One of comedy’s heavy hitters, Chris Brooker’s infectious energy and enthusiasm sweeps through a room like an irresistible force. Chris’ combination of hilarious, original material and inspired improvisation means that you will never see the same routine twice. Immensely likeable, there’s no doubting his ability to win over any crowd and drag them along for the ride.
“Very funny, very quick… On the spot humour.” BBC
