The Choral Society heralds the arrival of the Christmas season promising to shine light into the darkness of winter. We mark the 150th anniversary of Holst’s birth with Christmas Day, alongside the English folk carol settings of Vaughan Williams. In contrast, Whitbourn’s 21st Century mass setting evokes a dance-like spirit whilst interweaving traditional carols and readings for the season.
