Words Aloud!
A 90 minute session for people interested in reading work – poetry or prose - aloud.
Maybe you are a writer who wants some practice for Open Mic events, or maybe you fancy some vocal training for speaking in public or reading aloud at weddings or funerals, or simply you enjoy putting wonderful words in your mouth and publishing them into the air!
When we read or recite we literally breathe life into text. It is a great way of unlocking meaning, and deepening our understanding by experimenting with different readings.
No particular experience is needed for the session: come with a piece you would like to read – your own or an existing work – OR choose one from the selection Pippa will have with her.
Pippa Marriott has taught theatre and creative writing over many years, and comperes Open Mic events for Word Kitchen.
After working together and unlocking our voices, let’s see what it is like to step up to the mic!
