Alberta Cross were formed by Swedish-born lead singer and guitarist Petter Ericson Stakee and his London pal Terry Wolfers in the mid-00s. Their anthemic Americana-tinged songs possess a vulnerability and earthiness, and it soon showed in how hugely their debut record ‘The Thief & The Heartbreaker’ began to connect. What followed was success on both sides of the Atlantic, and high-profile jaunts with Mumford & Sons, Portugal. The Man, Neil Young, Them Crooked Vultures (Dave Grohl, Josh Homme and John Paul Jones) and Rag N’ Bone Man.
Alberta Cross have played at festivals all around the globe like Coachella, Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, Lollapalozza, Reading and Leeds, Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, Splendour In The Grass in Australia, Lowlands Festival, Pukkelpop, Southside and Hurricane Festival, Rock en Seine and many more plus doing countless of headline tours throughout North America, Europe and Australia.
2024 will see the re- release of their reworked 2007 debut ‘The Thief and The Heartbreaker’ featuring a wealth of musical collaborations from friends (Band of Skulls, Katie Melua revealed so far… with plenty more household names soon to be announced as joining the record). Re-recorded in Frome, Somerset, at Ethan John and Dom Monks (Big Thief) Bert Jansch studio, the forthcoming release was self-produced by Alberta Cross vocalist Petter Ericson Stakee, and mastered at the hallowed Abbey Road Studios.
This tour will be celebrating the album and the man that helped bring it to life, Petter Ericson Stakee.
Support comes from David Beats Goliath (Duo), a favourite Birmingham band of ours, who counts Avett Brothers, John Martyn and The Beatles as influences.
