Every night watching Split Frenz always ‘Enz’ in a bang.‘ Loungeroom Lizards- Although they’re still touring the stages of the world today,CROWDED HOUSE originally called it a day back on November 24, 1996, playing their historic ‘FAREWELL TO THE WORLD’ concert to over 100,000 fans on the steps of Sydney Opera House. It’s this original lineup and that 96 setlist which Sean, Ben, Mathew and Bridgey, of The Loungeroom Lizards, draw upon in their tribute, celebrating the original Crowded House yet respectfully bringing their own energy and character to much loved hits like WEATHER WITH YOU, IT’S ONLY NATURAL, DISTANT SUN etc. Just like the real thing – almost. Say ‘Hello To The World’ The LOUNGEROOM LIZARDS! The Lizards actually began life as a post pandemic covers trio, with Bridgey noting the set was peppered all over with Crowded House classics. The penny dropped: “Hang on – why don’t we play a Crowded House tribute concert? Everyone loves the songs, Sean sings ‘em brilliantly and we love playing ‘em!” Frontman Sean put out an ad local to their hometown of Oxford, England, for a fourth member who could add to the vocal harmonies and bring another guitar into the lineup. “We didn’t hold out much hope, but little did we know, musician and Crowded House fan Mathew lived just down the road all along. Not only could he sing and play guitar but he came with keyboards too. We really got lucky!” The Tribute to Crowded House now had a full lineup and hit The Lizard Lounge full of beans – rehearsing up the 96 setlist ready to hit the stage!
