A Saturday night with vintage electric organ 'n' percussion mondo-jazz groovers Les Hommes! This night is part of the EFG London Jazz Festival!
Ace mondo jazz combo Les Hommes return to Jamboree to perform cuts from their new album Sì, così. Esoteric, mid-century moods channelled via vibraphone, bass clarinet, flute and conga, combined with the visceral sonorities of a 1950s Lowrey organ, create Les Hommes’s strangely out-there groovescape. Organ trio manoeuvres will kick off the evening, followed by an increasingly expansive set that will explore plasma-rippling modalities and grooves scorched on re-entry.
The band tonight are:
Rory More – Lowrey DSO organ / electric piano
Vladimiro Carboni – drums
Tarek Abou-Chanab – conga / vibraphone / percussion
with
Ross Hughes – bass clarinet, flute
Gary Crockett – electric bass
DJ support on the night comes via a Karminsky Experience’s vinyl DJ set taking us on a fabulously rarified jazz trip. Orchestral orgies in rhythm, strange European poptasms, jazz for film, and the most curious dance floor fillers. Having sold 100,000+ copies of their lounge compilations globally, these DJ lounge kings know no ordinary groovy bounds.
Jamboree food option: Our ‘Arepatoire’ kitchen is open from 6pm serving a delicious mix of Italian/Colombian food for you to enjoy a pre-gig meal/snack if you wish!
