Polish lyric Mezzo Soprano Hanna Hipp sings a range of songs by, or about, women, in their original languages. Lyrics and translations will be available to all at the concert.

Hanna Hipp is a former member of the Royal Opera House’s Jette Parker Young Artist Programme. Roles since on the mainstage include both Magdalene (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and her role debut as Hänsel in Antony McDonald’s new production of Hänsel und Gretel under Sebastian Weigle. This season Hanna Hipp joins Welsh National Opera and Pacific Opera Victoria as Frederico Garcia Lorca in two new productions of Osvaldo Golijov’s Ainadamar and a return to the Royal Opera House for Hänsel und Gretel under Mark Wiggleswoth.
Emma Abbate is based in London and is a professor at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, a staff coach at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, and is regularly invited to teach at the Verbier Festival Academy.
