Monday night 28th October Helgi's and The Moon Temple presents a talk with Gary Parsons - The Highgate Vampire & The Occult.
Black magic..ghostly figures..a burned corpse..mysterious coffins..did a wampyr walk in Highgate?
This talk will discuss the series of events that happened at Highgate Cemetery in London between 1968 and 1970 and the media furore that surrounded them. It will look at the two main characters involved in drawing media attention to the cemetery during the height of the witchcraft revival in the UK and the links with Black Magic and the occult. It will also deal with the aftermath and the cultural connections that it inspired.
So let Gary Parsons guide you through the tombs and catacombs to give a sense of how the Highgate Vampire stired the British public in to becoming hunters of the undead.
Gary Parsons is a filmmaker and has an MA in film from Goldsmiths College London. He has been interviewed by Dazed & Hero magazines and BBC Radio 4 about Witchcraft. His previous talks include Witchcraft Documentaries of the 1970's and Aleister Crowley On Film
