Post-Punk TORPEDOES team up with Punk legends THE STEREOTYPES and Next Generation VIOLENT HEARTBEAT at the Railway Inn Winchester on Saturday 21st September for a night of uncompromising music.
TORPEDOES play their own brand of Post-Punk, Alt-Rock, Goth tinged music. Think The Damned, The Cure, Muse, Cardiacs etc and you're getting close, but ultimately.. they sound like Torpedoes. New album, 21 track "Heaven's Light Our Guide" sees Torpedoes pushing their angular, spikey guitar driven sound and adding increased use of keyboards. Heaven's Light reviewed and scored 8/10 in Vive Le Rock issue 114 - which was nice!
Punk Pioneers THE STEREOTYPES released the rarest punk single "Countdown" back in 1979, worth over £1500! Now they're back with a new album, new stories and the same punk attitude!
VIOLENT HEARTBEAT singer/songwriter Eleanor says they make "sexy alternative rock with lyrics for those disillusioned with the future". Think Patti Smith, with both classic tunes and post-punky Television-esque guitar parts. There's something going on with this band that is creating a stir (this will be their second gig), get down early to checkout what the buzz is about.
