A night devoted to the music of the island of Crete, Greece and the Mediterranean with Theo Lais and The Cretan Players! Tonight's performance is part of the Bloomsbury Festival!
Cretan music is wild and unpredictable, markedly different to the disciplined bouzouki music of the Greek mainland, with brief melodic lines, simple grooves and steady tempos often creating a feeling approaching the ecstatic. It is an expression of minimalism in music long before it became a recognised genre.
Jamboree food option: Our ‘Arepatoire’ kitchen is open from 6pm serving a delicious mix of Italian/Colombian food for you to enjoy a pre-gig meal/snack if you wish!
