Event information
The Antonine Trio is an innovative group featuring a blend of voice, French horn and piano.
They perform a wide variety of musical styles, ranging from Mozart and Strauss through to new contemporary commissions, to theatre pieces, traditional folk melodies (eg Burns), and even Flanders and Swann! They love to get to know their audience, introducing their music with historical and musical detail and fascinating anecdotes.
Steven Faughey (baritone) is a regular performer for Scottish Opera and other operatic ensembles. He is also closely involved with other areas of the Scottish Opera education department, visiting schools around Scotland.
Sue Baxendale (horn) plays in the Scottish Opera orchestra, along with many other orchestras, and some solo concerto performances.
Derek Clark (piano) started as an orchestral conductor and gues music coach, and was appointed Head of Music at Scottish Opera in 1997. He is a composed and arranger, inluding reduced orchestrations for touring opera performances. As an accompanist he plays with soloists and touring opera groups.
