Blow the Fuse presents the legendary Carol Grimes with her all star band of friends.
Carol Grimes is a towering presence in the UK music scene; from busking in the streets as a teenager to touring internationally with contemporary classical group The Shout.
She celebrated her 80th birthday this year at a sold out Ronnie Scott's club.
Her book of stories and prose 'The Singer's Tale' is a tender, musical journey through Carol's extraordinary life, filled with music, laughter and heartache.

'Wild, declamatory soulfulness' John Fordham The Guardian
'Equal parts Marsha Hunt, Julie Driscoll and Merry Clayton, turning her song poems into seductive, hypnotic and terrifying incantations. A remarkable piece.' Lois Wilson MOJO

Steve Lodder piano
Deirdre Cartwright guitar
Alison Rayner bass
Winston Clifford drums
Blues was her first love. Her first band, The Race, a blues band appeared at Ronnie Scotts. After having her first child, she joined the jazz rock blues band Delivery with Steve and Phil Miller, Lol Coxhill and Roy Babbington. Two solo albums, Nashville and in Memphis exploring roots and folk music, then Soul and R'n'B.
Blues led naturally to jazz, and she recorded many more albums to the present day. Carol is a truly genre-busting artist and her music embraces drama and love.
