Event information
Following our sell out gig earlier this year we head back to the heart of East London with our all-dayer featuring
"Northern Gods" THE SKAPONES. Celebrating their 11th year they have supported acts such as Bad Manners, The Lambrettas, The Beat ft Ranking Roger and Dave Wakeling as well as The Hotknives and Dennis Alcapone and The Selecter ft Pauline Black & Gaps Hendrickson to name but a few. May 2019 saw them picked as support for The Specials 40th Anniversary tour Having undertaken a massive tour of the UK & Ireland & Europe to critical acclaim. 2023 saw them take on their 2nd tour of the USA. Staying along the East Coast, They opened the humongous Supernova Ska Festival in Fort Monroe,Virginia and they absolutely smashed it.
They regularly play venues in the south of England including Music hot spot Camden Town, where tickets are starting to become hard to come by and so we are privileged to be able to bring them to Walthamstow Trades Hall as part of Ska Train Festival all-dayer for the very first time.
We have really gone to town on the line up for this gig, as such we are so proud to be able to finally bring back to "The Trades" a band who virtually tore the roof off last time they played Ska Train Festival. THE DEKKERTONES featuring local artiste Mick Summerville on joint lead vocals are set to play a rare hometown gig. This 8-piece line up play tribute to the very best of Jamaican and UK Ska including the very best of Trojan Records.
Next up are AKA THE SYNDICATE. A seven piece band hailing from the South-East of England, they have been captivating audiences with their unique blend of genres - primarily ska and reggae since their formation in 2019. Led by the brilliant Laura Betts on vocals, the bands sound is characterized by soaring melodies, a powerful brass section, and a rhythm section that pulses with relentless energy. Their music gives social commentary on everyday issues experienced by people living in the 21st century.
Bringing a sprinkle of flavour to the live stage are Kent based Section 8 with the stylish Sonja Wilson on lead vocals, this six piece ska set up bring their own unique blend of Original tracks and covers to what is always a packed crowd.
Mixing it up for what is sure to be one hell of a night are guest DJ's Ska Bar Steve,(Tonic Ska Radio) Dr Ska,(Bedford) and making a very special guest appearance is Dave Duplock who brings The Sounds of Wigan Pier and the cream of northern soul to East London (Walls Of Heartache).
