An afternoon's music at The Betsey with Matthew Edwards and the Birmingham Poets, ex-Mutton Bird Alan Gregg's new band Polite Company, and Sukie Smith.
Matthew Edwards and the Birmingham Poets
Matthew 'Ted' Edwards has been making compelling music for decades, from his Birmingham roots to his San Francisco home. It's a pleasure to welcome him back to the Betsey for a set of urgent, powerful and lyrical songs, all of his own making.
Polite Company
Alan Gregg was for many years a member of the New Zealand band The Mutton Birds. Now he's back with a new band and some fresh songs, as catchy as those of old. We're honoured to host their debut acoustic performance tonight.
Sukie Smith
Singer-songwriter-actress-artist Sukie Smith, once the force behind the critically acclaimed band Madam, is back with her debut solo album, The Glass Dress and a Ringing Bell, released on Shillingboy Records. We're really looking forward to her playing songs new and old.
