This month's 'Not Only But Also The Blues brings you:

Chris Jagger Band
Featuring Elliet Mackrell on fiddle, Paul Atkinson on drums and Paul Riley on bass, the band plays an exciting mixture of roots music based around Chris’s songs including a selection from the latest BMG record ‘Mixing up the Medicine.’ The track ‘Anyone seen my Heart?’ features an excellent duet with his brother Mick Jagger which you can watch here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etwvLb5SUeQ

Chris and company have played extensively across Europe, Australia and South America for many years. 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of his first vinyl record on Asylum in the USA. For more see chrisjaggeronline.com.

Big Mouth Blues Band
“Having sung and performed for years on the professional circuit and as a session singer, Wendy Herman wanted to return to her roots with the blues. Mary Caffrey, well known bassist on the blues circuit joined Wendy to form Big Mouth Blues Band. Wendy and Mary, both charismatic performers looked for dynamic blues guitar players, finding just what they wanted in Richard and Jonathan Pickles, father and son team and well known veterans on the blues scene. Bill Birks, pro drummer from the international scene in the 70s and 80s and guitarist/singer songwriter professional musician from the age of 19. Billl signed to CBS and released his own album 'Contraband' on the European market. Here Bill and Mary lock in to provide a rock solid, driving, creative rhythm section. These 5 musicians got together last year to play songs they just love to play, from blues standards to lesser known numbers giving them their own particular flavour.”

Another great line up of two of the best blues-inspired acts in the South West, curated here on the last Monday of every month by local bass player Mary Caffrey. If you're interested in performing on the main bill, or as part of the jam/open mic part of the proceedings, contact her: mary.caffrey49@gmail.com
