On Wed, 29 Jan 2025, Picky New Promotions in association with FMLY Agency are proud to welcome Miki Berenyi Trio to The Lab in Northampton. Fans of British music in the 90s will remember Miki’s first band, Lush, one of the most written-about groups of the late 1980s/early 1990s UK indie scene and pioneers of the shoegaze genre. Miki Berenyi Trio are Miki Berenyi, Kevin ‘Moose’ McKillop (ex Moose) and Oliver Cherer (Gilroy Mere, Aircooled). The three musicians first worked together with Berenyi’s second band Piroshka on their 2021 tour – Miki and Kevin being founder members, Oliver coming in to play bass. When the global pandemic made touring impossible, Miki spent the lockdown months writing her memoir, ‘Fingers Crossed,’ released in 2022 to widespread acclaim. To provide some musical accompaniment for the string of book events and signings, the Miki Berenyi Trio was formed. The band has developed a momentum of its own, touring with the Wedding Present and Gang of Four and sold-out London co-headline show with Aircooled.

Supporting are Night Swimming, a dream pop band formed and based in the city of Bath, Somerset. The band take the ethereal, melodic elements of the early Wolf Alice EPs and Slowdive albums, combining them with the minimalism of local idols Portishead and Massive Attack.

Doors 7:30 pm. Ages 14 + (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). Non-members will be charged a £1 fee OTD.
