Event information
The Debate Parlour is a free salon session created by Sangeeta Fairweather, a Writer and Poet from High Wycombe. This is a safe space for healthy debates and discussions regarding various topics. It is an opportunity to raise questions, encourage critical thinking and to share and learn from one another. Our first debate on ‘What is the future of Feminism?’ was really successful.
Our second session will be looking at: 'Beauty standards: why do we care?'
What constitutes beautiful? Is it empowering or repressing? Does it reinforce stereotypes? Does it reinforce social inequalities and highlight class division? Is race and culture also significant?
