Join us for an exhilarating evening of music that spans Broadway brilliance, the sweeping landscapes of the American West, and groundbreaking orchestral innovation. This program brings together four dynamic works that showcase rhythm, energy, and unforgettable melodies.

Leonard Bernstein’s Candide Overture is a camp whirlwind of sparkling orchestration and playful wit. Taken from his operetta Candide, this beloved concert opener races through dazzling melodies, infectious rhythms, and boundless energy, capturing the adventurous and satirical spirit of Voltaire’s classic tale.

Aaron Copland’s Rodeo is a quintessentially American ballet, bursting with rustic charm and toe-tapping exuberance. From the lively “Buckaroo Holiday” to the iconic “Hoedown,” Copland’s unmistakable blend of folk melodies and orchestral grandeur paints a vivid picture of the Wild West.

Taking a brief interlude from the stage, we have our next piece: Igor Stravinsky’s Symphonies of Wind Instruments, offering a striking shift in mood.
