• Loft extension insulation – double-glazed Velux windows, 100mm insulation plasterboards to all walls, 200mm glass-fibre insulation on all surfaces within loft-storage spaces
• Underfloor insulation – glass-fibre insulation between floor-joists installed via crawl space
• Double-glazed leaded windows in original style
• 4 x Solar PV panels with 1.3kw generation capability giving c. 700kWh pa
• Energy-efficient hot water system with insulated Megaflow hot water tank
• Compact fluorescent lights (CFLs), now being replaced with LED lights
• Internal wall insulation using Sempatap, reducing the U-value of a 9” solid wall by 13%
• External wall insulation – 100mm EPS insulation to all three sides of the house, which should now have a U-value of less than 0.3 W/m2K (down from 2.1 W/m2K)
• Heat loss monitoring – before and after projects using a set of hygrometers monitored from Home Assistant, complemented by FLIR heat-images comparisons
