KOM KOM on decks

The clocks are going back and we move into the darker months, the point of the year when it’s said that the veil between worlds is at its thinnest.

Alter #5, marking All Hallow's Eve, will be part movement workshop part sound journey, in the nave of Highfield Trinity Church.

We will start with a gently facilitated movement workshop - you’ll be given prompts to connect to, move, stretch, warm up your body. This will followed by a non verbal period of around 90 minutes as Kom Kom takes over on the decks to take us through the veil and back...

Kom Kom is a British-Khmer DJ based in Sheffield. For this night, she will explore states of trance and ancestral communion through experimental sounds, with a nod to her South-East Asian heritage.

Everything is an invitation.

The bass sub will be our altar.
You are welcome to bring an offering.

Arrive 7.15 for a prompt 7.30pm start (if you arrive after 7.30 please enter quietly).
Tickets £6 - 12. No-one turned away for lack of funds, and please support the project by paying more if you can.

Alter is an ongoing series of experiments in sacred space, in the nave of Highfield Trinity Church.

The format and content are emergent and evolving; ingredients include experimental DJ set/s, visuals, non verbal time, a collectively built alter, and prompts for meditative and creative exploration. During the non verbal time you are welcome to do or not do as you please; we only ask that you don’t talk in the nave.

The organisers are not affiliated to Highfield Trinity church, but are generously hosted and supported by the stewarding Methodist congregation to use the space for this experiment.
