2022 awardees of the Help Musicians UK Record/Release Fund, ‘Aspyrian’ is a London-based trio blending jazz with an array of folk music traditions from different corners of the world. Influenced also by an eclectic mix of soulful songwriters and alternative bands, the result is an ensemble sound that is captivating and truly unique. The group features:

Robin Porter – Saxophones
Jack Gillen – Guitar
Matt Parkinson – Drums

Aspyrian’s recent single releases have seen thousands of streams and have been selected for multiple prominent jazz playlists. Their recently released second album will be followed with an 11-date UK tour around prestigious venues on the jazz circuit.

Previous performance highlights include a sold-out show at the 2022 EFG London Jazz Festival as well as an 8-date UK tour in 2023, with shows at Pizza Express Live and The Jazz Centre UK. Aspyrian’s debut album release – ‘to explore (vol. 1)’ – demonstrates the trio “creating a distinctive and expressive sound” and “[evokes] the freedom of spirit through their combined writing and performing.” (Mike Gates, UK Vibe).
