Every year, our Christmas Party at the Crawdaddy Club takes us back to where it all began, with the incredible sounds of the Crawdaddy Blues Band. These nights are all about dancing, grooving, and embracing the festive spirit with classic tunes that harken back to the British R&B explosion of the 1960s.

The Crawdaddy Blues Band was formed in 1984 as a reunion of four friends from Chiswick who grew up in the midst of this legendary music scene. They were there in the early days, attending gigs at iconic venues like the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond, Eel Pie Island in Twickenham, and all over West London. As seasoned musicians who played in local bands through the ’60s and ’70s, they continue to capture the magic of the British R&B clubs of the era.

Over 30 years on, with a few lineup changes, the band is still delivering that authentic British R&B sound. Their performances span from straight-up blues to their famous “party set,” which mixes R&B standards with pop covers from bands that cut their teeth in clubs like ours—The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, The Kinks, The Animals, Them, and Spencer Davis. You’ll also hear a touch of the mid-‘60s blues boom with Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall & Eric Clapton, plus a taste of late ’60s blues rock from the likes of Cream, Free, and Led Zeppelin.
