Buckle 'n' Boots
You may have seen them at The Ginistry, at The Oxted Festival, or just heard their great tunes... either way they are coming to The Oxted Sessions! And it's good we've got in quick, before they get too big!
Bee and Laura Jayne, known as Buckle'n' Boots, have been spreading country music all around the UK. Their debut EP, ‘Jumping on the Band Wagon’, is set to be independently released in early 2025, and will be a blend of their own UK country-pop, featuring tracks produced by multi-platinum selling producer Jamie Sellers.
Henry Wagons
“Henry Wagons comes across like Nick Cave singing the Johnny Cash songbook” – Timeout NYC
Henry Wagons has a unique knack for seizing your attention in a way that can only come from years of performing on hundreds of stages around the world as one of Australia’s most gifted musicians, performers and radio/TV hosts. Often described as a “professor of song” and instigator of the Australian movement of Indie-Country music, Henry is a master craftsmen of the stage, and carves out his place upon it like no-other.
Henry has released three solo albums, and seven records with his band ‘Wagons’, many of which have been critically acclaimed and awarded, regularly and over a sustained period, across twenty five years in music.
Jenny Don't & The Spurs
"They are doing more than most to drag country music away from the overblown arena acts and take it back to the dive bars where it belongs" Vintage Rock
Hailing from Portland, Oregon, Jenny Don’t and the Spurs have spent over a decade building a reputation as hardworking and musically-driven stalwarts of the Country Western scene. With a fierce DIY ethos, they have independently released the majority of their output (three albums, ten singles) on their own label, cultivating a vast international following extensive tours across the US, Europe and Australia/New Zealand, as well as performances in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Mexico.
Rosco Shakes
Rosco Shakes are a sizzling hot blues and rock & roll band. Originally inspired by greats like Louis Jordon and T Bone Walker, Rosco Shakes started life as a jump blues band, exciting audiences with stomping boogie woogie piano, and smoking hot guitar licks. The band has now evolved to incorporate sounds from the Chicago Blues scene and the psychedelic 1960s blues boom. The band have a unique set up, led on all fronts by a piano dynamo, an exciting guitar showman (Oxted Sessions alumni Andy Twyman!), an unwavering bassist, and a raucous singer-drummer.
Simeon Hammond Dallas
Having absolutely wowed everyone when opening for Nigel Wearne in February, getting one of the best receptions I can remember, Simeon returns to the Sessions with her full band!
Simeon Hammond Dallas was born and raised in the rich musical and cultural melting pot of Camden Town. Growing up listening to her parent’s eclectic record collection that spanned artists from The Cranberries to Ella Fitzgerald, Simeon’s own music traverses genres and draws on a broad palette of lived experiences to create songs that take her listeners on a rom-com rollercoaster through stories of love, loss and liberation. Through a catalogue filled with intersectional storytelling, hypnotic melodies and poetic lyricism, Simeon Hammond Dallas gives voice to a generation wrangling with the complexities of modern life.
Her second studio EP, Make It Romantic, was held to high acclaim by the likes of Americana UK, Earmilk, Folk Radio, and more. Simeon’s “star in the making” (Lonesome Highway) only continues to rise with a new project brewing for the upcoming year, armed with “a match for the best voices on the UK scene” (Country Way Of Life), and a blazing lead guitar, Simeon Hammond Dallas continues to prove “she is the whole package” (Neil McCormick, The Telegraph).
