Event information
Following successful tours across the UK last autumn, supporting Cats in Space and Quireboys, Willie Dowling - on piano and vocals - and long standing collaborator Andy Lewis on bass, will be joined by drummer Darby Todd (Devin Townsend, Kee Marcello, The Darkness) for a headline club tour of the UK in February.
On the 14th of February Willie Dowling & The Invisible Band are playing at the The 100 Club in London.
The group will be performing songs from Willie Dowling’s critically acclaimed new album of piano based pop songs The Simpleton as well as a few tracks from his past bands, including The Dowling Poole, Jackdaw4 and The Grip.
Support at The 100 Club will be David Woodcock and The Fixtures, with The Ondines opening the night.
Willie Dowling’s new album The Simpleton is available now on CD (from Bandcamp), to stream, and as a digital download.
Willie Dowling is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and producer. Over the years, Willie has fronted, written and produced albums for The Dowling Poole, Jackdaw4, Honeycrack and The Grip.
Willie has provided keyboards, guitars bass and vocals, both on studio sessions and live, for a wide variety of artists including Dr Hook, Midge Ure, Hot Chocolate, The Wildhearts, Quireboys, Shane MacGowan, Maroon Town and Andy Taylor.
Additionally, Willie is a renowned composer for film and television in a wide variety of styles and genres, ranging from electro-pop to full orchestral scores, working with and writing for such comedic luminaries as Steve Coogan, Vic & Bob, Lenny Henry, Armstrong & Miller and many, many more.
