Charles Dickens' Unfinished Novel & Our Endless Attempts to End It
Presented by: StonyWords0 | STONY STRATFORD: The Library @ 5-7 Church Street |

P | Monday 27th January, 2025 |
N | 6:45pm |
When Charles Dickens died in 1870, he left his last book unfinished. As a result, The Mystery of Edwin Drood has become an inspiration for a host of continuations and theories, resulting in books, articles, debates, public trials, plays and musicals. The history of Drood solutions is the history of Dickens himself. It is also a tale involving ghost writers, Greek gods and George Bernard Shaw behaving badly!
Pete Orford is Course Director of the MA in Charles Dickens Studies at the University of Buckingham.
The event is on the first floor. There is a lift to enable access to the venue.
