Event information
England's distinctive republican experiment may have been short-lived but it changed the course of British history. Previously unthinkable ideas about sovereignty and liberty were implemented; men and women discussed radical politics; and experimental scientists scrutinised the world in new ways. So much for Roundheads being Right but Repulsive.
