Event information
Manchesters Minimum Wage Immanence Unit comprises Adam Fairhall on accordion/harmonium, David Birchall on guitar/banjo and Michael Perrett on bass clarinet.
They improvise music that draws as much on English folk song as it does the timbral integrations of European spectralism and the free drone excursions of Pelt.
Writing in The Wire, Daniel Spicer described their debut CD as "sounding as if Terry Riley had gently commandeered the Bitches Brew sessions before nodding off in the corner”.

Plus Support from Callie Sounds
Callie is a composer and theatrical designer whose music explores aspects of glitch, disintegration, and the queer consciousness through techniques rooted in ambience, drone, and noise art. Her current work has evolved around narrative-led explorations of improvisational soundscapes constructed in real time using live acoustic sounds, field recordings & modular synthesis. Through the bending, breaking, and obliterating of 'natural' sounds, Callie seeks to extract the delicate, exciting, and unheard fragments that can be found when you strip away the expectations of how an instrument, or a voice, is supposed to be heard.
