Mark S. Williamson, a musician, sound artist, film maker and educator based in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, has been recording as Spaceship, on and off, for the last thirty years. His work is often made in response to his environment, working on location, combining field recordings with electronic and acoustic instrumentation, usually recorded outside, amid the landscape and weather.
Mark, as Spaceship and under his own name, has recorded for wiaiwya, Apollolaan, the Dark Outside and his own Forged River Recordings.
Mark also leads the Primitive Percussion Youth Orchestra, an ever changing improvisational ensemble of young people.
