Crowned UK Singer-Songwriter of the Year 2024, Fraser Anderson is poised to tear through the UK acoustic and folk landscape with a mix of heart, grit, and honesty that’s been brewing for over two decades. After years of balancing his craft with the all-encompassing demands of raising three children without a support network, Anderson has re-emerged, this time flanked by two exceptional collaborators: double bass maestro John Parker—widely regarded as one of the finest players in the game—and his partner, vocalist and songwriter Bex Baxter, whose soaring harmonies and shared songwriting spark add a transformative depth to his sound.

The 2025 schedule is set to extend a string of live shows that have seen audiences on their feet, demanding double encores. He’s no stranger to big stages either, having played Europe’s most prestigious venues and festivals, with rock 'n' roll pioneer Chuck Berry once proclaiming, “This boy’s pretty damn good.”

Anderson’s music—a poetic tapestry of vulnerability and hope—draws comparisons to Bon Iver, Nick Drake, Damien Rice, and Laura Marling.

His journey began at 19, when, as a young husband and father, he snatched precious moments to write songs. Scottish folk legend Dougie MacLean soon invited him to join his band, an experience that heavily influenced his acclaimed 2003 debut album ...And The Girl With The Strawberry.

In 2005, Anderson relocated to rural France with his young family, funding his second album, Coming Up For Air (2006), by selling their home. Recorded in Paris, it was hailed as “truly beautiful” by BBC Radio 2’s Bob Harris. His 2010 release Little Glass Box—featuring the legendary Danny Thompson on Double Bass—earned raves from Folk Radio as “quite brilliant.”

A seasoned support act, Anderson has shared stages with Joan Armatrading, The Christians, Pete Doherty, Italian star Niccolò Fabi, and Chuck Berry.

After moving to Bristol, he released Under the Cover of Lightness in 2016, which earned BBC Radio Ulster’s Album of the Week. Fast-forward to now: Anderson’s 2023 album All We Are cemented his return, with a live album due in 2025 and some tantalizing cross-genre collaborations on the horizon. Beyond music, Anderson is turning heads as an award-winning filmmaker, (Best Music Video 2024 - Worcester Film Festival) celebrated for his emotive and visually striking music videos (Cold Eyes, One More Day Forever). His creative output shows no signs of slowing, with a new album in the works alongside Baxter and a short film currently in development.
