The latest film in the Cornwall Climate Care series #ClimateScam? Who's Shaping the Climate Debate? comes to the Old Chapel in the new year.

As the world faces increasingly devastating climate-related disasters, why do so many people believe that the climate crisis is nothing more than a hoax?

In this eye-opening documentary, Jaz, a young mobile hairdresser and tech-savvy member of the TikTok generation, embarks on a journey to uncover the truth.

In home visits with leading climate scientists, activists and sceptics, she discovers they may actually have more in common than they think.

With social media algorithms increasingly funnelling us into polarised views of 'reality', Jaz discovers who stands to gain from the conflict and falsehoods that could undermine our ability to confront the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced.

After the film the team would like to speak with a small selection of the audience (10-12) for approx 30 mins to do some deep-dive research into audience attitudes and behaviours and whether these can be impacted by watching the films. This is a really important and interesting piece of work as - incredibly - it does not appear that any studies have been done previously to look at whether environmental documentaries can actually have a real world impact. Cornwall Climate Care currently have a net zero intern psychology graduate from Plymouth University working with the team to do this research.
