Alan Barnes/Mark Nightingale Sextet Play ‘Great Jazz Tunes’.
The 20th Century produced a host of Great Jazz Tunes written by masters of the idiom that endure to this day. Not from musicals, but handcrafted jazz classics written as vehicles for instrumentalists.
Playing a full programme of these well-known tunes, inventively reimagined for the sextet and led by two of the country’s foremost jazz musicians, this band never fails to excite and delight its audiences.
"Every member is at the top of their individual game and brings so much to the table… …joyous ensemble and improvising.”
