The Spice of Life is a Soho landmark, historic music venue and is in the heart of London's West End.

Renowned for having a great live sound The Spice of Life and Substance have worked together for over 17 years to bring the very best new music to the heart of the capital.

Art Room
Hailing from Southwest London, this sibling-led three-piece band, with Amber on vocals/guitar, Will on bass and their childhood friend Luke on drums, incorporate a melting pot of influences spanning 70s to present day, from the intricate rhythms of punk and progressive rock to the vibrant groove of funk, their music is a rollercoaster of sonic exploration.

Very much live-music led, the band has already achieved band-defining moments such as performing on a new band stage at Glastonbury 2022, at the 02 Academy in Islington, having their album ‘On The Lilac River’ produced by Morgan Nicholls (formerly of The Streets and The Gorillas) and being interviewed on BBC Radio, RTL Luxembourg and Delaware University Radio.

Blood Like Wine
Blood Like Wine play a blend of alt-rock and 90s grunge originals with a nod to the past and an eye on the future. Their music embodies the spirit of rebellion with an unapologetic edge that will get every crowd jumping. Formed in a post COVID landscape of introspection their originals take you from brooding passion to high energy alt-rock floor fillers.

Monumental
Born from a clash of wildly different personalities, four talented young lads from Essex have come together to create the unpredictable and unforgettable sound that is Monumental.

Drawing inspiration from their musical heroes such as The Libertines, Catfish and The Bottlemen and The Beatles, they’ve crafted a sound that is unmistakably their own…think roaring guitars, pounding rhythms and melodies that get stuck in your head.

Their story began in Sept ‘23. Since then, they have written an arsenal of anthemic songs and graced the stage at some of the UK’s most iconic venues where they’ve captivated audiences with their high-energy stage presence and catchy songs. Whatever the size of stage, they will fill it and will leave you begging for more.

Each member brings their unique spark to the mix: Finn, the charismatic frontman whose powerful vocals are packed full of soul; Alfie, the lead guitarist and quiet harmonic genius; Nathan, the steady bassist who is always ready to flip the script when least expected; and Denny, the drummer who smashes through every beat like it’s his last. Monumental are everything a rock and roll band should be – loud, rebellious and with an unapologetic passion for creating banging music.

Although relative newcomers, the four have already achieved so much. They’ve played their music live on national radio, have been interviewed by the press and recorded their first few tracks - the first of which ‘Lovesick’ has been released to great critical acclaim. Monumental are especially proud to have had ‘Lovesick’ selected for radio play by ‘BBC Introducing’.

In short, they are turning heads with audiences of all ages and proving that indie punk is as relevant as ever. Their sound resonates, their chemistry is undeniable and their journey is just beginning
