We are honoured to announce that, as part of The London Int’l Ska Festival 2025, Public Image Limited's legendary bass player and music visionary Jah Wobble will be presenting PiL’s hugely influential 1979 album - Metal Box… in Dub, at London’s iconic 100 Club on Saturday 19th April 2025.

Jah Wobble is well known as one of the founding members and ultimately the back bone of Public Image Limited during the early years. Whilst working with John Lyndon, Keith Levene and Jim Walker, Jah’s notoriously powerful low end bass, massively inspired by reggae and dub, created PiL’s debut album Public Image: First Issue, which included the band’s first Top 10 single as well as their prestigious second album Metal Box, which included the post-punk classic Death Disco.

This 100 Club show see's Wobble revisit Metal Box, completely reinventing the ground breaking album as heavy yet sophisticated dub interpretations and mind-expanding productions.

Since departing with PiL, Jah Wobble is now a prevalent solo artist with his band, Invaders of the Heart and was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize for his debut album, Rising Above Bedlam. He has worked with the likes of Primal Scream, Dolores O’Riordan, Sinead O’Connor, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Bill Laswell and most recently Horace Andy. His heavy, hypnotic bass lines defined the post punk era and have influenced many musicians over the last 47 years!

Don’t miss this iconic artist, performing an iconic album at this iconic venue!

DJ for the evening is the acclaimed producer Wrongtom, who will be presenting Volume 1 and the soon to be released Volume 2 of his Spiky Dread compilation series, which shines a light on rare, yet brilliant late 70’s/early 80’s world of post punk dub and punky reggae.

The London Int’l Ska Festival, founded in 1988, returns to the capital for it’s 37th anniversary year next Easter (17-20 April) to celebrate all things ska, and it’s glorious evolution from rhythm and blues through to rocksteady, reggae, dub, 2 Tone and beyond. It’s series of events are housed in iconic London venues including; 100 Club, the Dixie Queen paddle steamer, and Camden’s Electric Ballroom, Assembly and Dublin Castle.
