Event information
City of London Symphonic Winds present an exciting programme of modern symphonic wind music, under the baton of Alan Duguid. This first concert of 2025 will open with Philip Sparke's 'Orient Express' before we embark on a virtual journey around Eastern Europe, with the programme featuring Wind-Harp by Joseph Horovitz, Czardas by Paul Hart (based on the traditional Hungarian folk song form), and Roma by Valerie Coleman (written to depict the language of the Romani people). The programme finishes with the energetic Dances from Crete by Adam Gorb, inspired by traditional Cretan dances and the ancient Greek myths of Crete, together with a spectacular trip down the Samaria Gorge. Join us for an unforgettable concert!
