G Version III
DJ and producer based in Kyoto, Japan.
After experiencing a local outdoor reggae festival as a teenager, she developed an interest in sound systems and club culture.
She began performing under the alias of G Version III in 2022. In the same year, she did a mix work that consists entirely of her own music featuring I Jahbar from the Jamaican dancehall collective Duppy Gun, on NTS show.
In 2024, she released her debut album cassette on Digital Sting, a US alternative dub label that includes Equiknoxx, Duppy Gun, and Feel Free Hi Fi, creating a crossover sound based on new roots and dub that incorporates seductive R&B from the late 90s to early 00s, dark trap, and disturbing Memphis horrorcore elements.
