Event information
Danny Lowndes plays his first debut at Cafe#9 with his band featuring:
Bryan Day - Guitar
Emily Chaplais - Violin
Mike Fleming - Bass
Chris Lloyd - Accordion
Danny released his first album ‘Demonstration No. 1” in September and this show marks the first ‘demonstration’ of the album. The album captures the heart of manouche jazz through the lens of an artist who has been able to combine his passion for music and devotion to his roots. Danny Lowndes proves to be a guitarist of great taste, capable of creating solos of rare intensity and taking care of every detail in order to bring out the beauty of gypsy swing music. The music is a celebration of tradition and a personal ode to his origins, a work that manages to transport the listener on a musical journey full of emotions, between affectionate tributes and original compositions that show a deep and authentic soul.
Danny has played on stages all over the U.K and Europe from iconic venues such as the Royal Albert Hall - London, L’Elyseee Monmatre - Paris, Grand Auditorium Louis Lumière - Cannes and has been featured on BBC Radio Extra 1, BBC Radio Sheffield, and has recorded at BBC Maida Vale studios in London.
