Event information
Séamus Óg’s music is a reflection of his life steeped in Irish tradition, shaped by the rugged beauty of Owey Island and the hidden backroads of South Armagh. A childhood surrounded by a musical family, where sessions filled the air, and laid the foundation for his distinctive sound. From intimate gatherings in tucked-away bars to the echoes of windswept coasts, his work is a celebration of connection, place, and the timeless art of storytelling.
Séamus has shared stages with artists such as Chris Brain, Brìghde Chaimbeul, Ríoghnach Connolly & Honeyfeet, and Mikey Kenney, and his critically acclaimed albums Best Masala Tea and Terry’s Síbín have been featured on BBC 6 Music (Tom Robinson), Celtic FM, and Radio Fáilte.
Performing as a trio with Awen Blandford and Andy Patterson, Séamus blends evocative lyrics with intricate instrumentation, crafting immersive experiences for his audiences. His third album, Haul The Pots, releasing on March 25, continues his exploration of tradition, memory, and the shared human journey. With music that resonates deeply and stories told from the heart, Séamus Óg stands as a powerful voice in contemporary Irish folk.
