Event information
You’re invited to the Pressing Up Club, an emerging, experimental house for artistic siblings making melodic, urgent, freedom music that is more concerned with life than industry. We’re hosting a very special gig in London on Thursday 30th Jan in collaboration with Walthamstow Trades Hall and Independent Venue week. - a one-night-only gay Jools Holland-eque smogarsbord of perfomances by our beloveds:
R.aggs, captivating, rhythm-laden pop folk that will make your body shine
Jenny Moore, new rousing songs for trouble & candid piano anthems
Rubie, high drama grand piano balladry and melodic storytelling
SKSie, (pronounced ‘sexy’), oblique, harmonic diy-til-they-die
and a super special screening of new films by Lily Pietersen, artist, filmmaker and member of our sister-project, F*Choir. Lily’s intuitive, poetic, short form collage-diaries document the making of Wild Mix, a queer ritual for survival by Jenny Moore and featuring Bianca Stephens, Luisa Gerstein, Nandi Bhebhe, Zahra Haji Fath Ali Tehrani, Sib Trigg.
Here’s to sharing space in joy, solidarity, wonder and newness. Keep up the fight. Find queer family. It’s not radical to belong, it’s your birthright. Join us.
