Bassist Freddie Jensen brings together a trio of exciting young musicians from both sides of the Atlantic to explore their shared musical repertoire, as well as to perform new music written for this gig.
Freddie Jensen is a British double bassist who trained at the junior department of the Royal Academy of Music under flautist Gareth Lockrane. He was a finalist in the BBC Young Musician Jazz Award 2014, and in 2016 won the first prize in the jazz competition in at the 5th European Biennial Double Bass Congress in Prague. He has shared the stage with musicians such as Norma Winstone, Julian Arguelles, Jean Toussaint, Gwilym Simcock, and Kit Downes.
Noah Stoneman is a 23 year old pianist and composer from North London. He is currently based in New York City studying for his masters degree in Jazz performance, and is adept at a wide range of musical idioms. What binds these different languages together is improvisation; an art which Noah aims to master throughout his career. He regularly performs and records as a sideman for some of the finest musicians across the UK from all generations, including Jasper Hoiby, Alex Hitchock, Mark Kavuma, Ruben Fox, Jason Brown, Rachael Cohen and many others. In 2023 Noah released his debut album on Fresh Sound records, produced by long-term mentor and teacher Kit Downes, and received critical acclaim from publications including Jazzwise Magazine and The Guardian.
Jack Thomas is a London based Jazz Drummer. He recently graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, and previously attended the Purcell School of Music for Young Musicians. Since leaving music college, Jack has been performing regularly with various musicians including Mark Kavuma, Ruben Fox, Rachael Cohen and Karim Saber. Jack also regularly performs at venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza express and the 606 club, as well as having toured across the UK, Europe and North America. Along with live performance, Jack works frequently in recording studios, having been featured on Mark Kavuma’s recent album ‘Magnum Opus’, as well as various film scores which he recorded at Abbey Road studios and AIR Lyndhurst.
