Event information
Manfred Mann was one of the most innovative and respected bands of the 1960s, known for their R&B roots fused with jazz influences—an unusual yet winning combination that produced a string of timeless hits. Now, original frontman Paul Jones (1963–66) and his successor Mike d’Abo (1966–69) will take to the stage, revisiting the iconic music that saw the band regularly topping the UK and US charts.
Expect performances of chart-toppers like “Do Wah Diddy Diddy”, “Pretty Flamingo” and “Mighty Quinn” as well as d’Abo’s enduring classic “Handbags and Gladrags”. These tracks, along with their distinctive sound, have stood the test of time, still bringing audiences to their feet over 50 years later.
Paul Jones and Mike d’Abo were central to Manfred Mann’s success, with their voices leading the band during their most commercially successful years. The group’s 1964 hit “5-4-3-2-1” became the theme tune for Ready Steady Go!, and they were the first southern English group to top the US Billboard Hot 100 during the British Invasion.
Don’t miss this rare chance to experience the captivating energy and unmistakable vocals of these two music legends, performing the songs that made them famous. This is a unique opportunity to see the pioneers of British rhythm & blues band Manfred Mann’s lead vocalists in an intimate setting.
