Event information
We are delighted to see the return of Large Plants to The Foxlowe Arts Centre. This time supported by local garage-blues trio The Black Apples.
Large Plants started in 2020 as a solo recording project for Jack Sharp, the singer and guitarist for psych-folk luminaries Wolf People (currently on hiatus).
Their music could be characterised as psychedelic folk-rock; a continuation of Wolf People’s melding of 70’s folk-rock (Mountain, Jethro Tull, Fairport Convention) with the bluesy psychedelia of Black Sabbath, Cream or Traffic.
What really makes the band stand out and gives them their own unique power, is the brilliantly intricate and truly mind-blowing guitar counterpoint between Jack Sharp and Joe Wooley.
They have released two albums 'The Carrier (2022) and 'The Thorn' (2023) both through Ghost Box records on LP, CD and all digital channels
"captures the moment when the post-hippie comedown was chiselled into Deep Purple granite... Effortlessly
magical."
ELECTRONIC SOUND
The Black Apples came out of an extended hiatus in late 2019 and have taken their blistering live act out to sell-out audiences since. The trio of Alix Musso, Joe Dawson and Jamie Griffin have churned out three albums of raw, sinewy garage blues since 2019 to add to their debut back in 2005.
