A night devoted to the music of the island of Crete, Greece and the Mediterranean with the very talented Theo Lais and The Cretan Players!
Cretan music is wild and unpredictable, markedly different to the disciplined bouzouki music of the Greek mainland, with brief melodic lines, simple grooves and steady tempos often creating a feeling approaching the ecstatic. It is an expression of minimalism in music long before it became a recognised genre.
