Other Places is a collection of 3 one-act plays by Harold Pinter, one of the most significant English dramatists of the Twentieth Century. They are linked by the theme that people are isolated from each other:
Family Voices is a series of parallel monologues between a mother, father and son in the form of letters which gradually reveal that things are not what they seem and that something quite sinister is going on;
Victoria Station is a brilliantly funny but chilling dialogue between a taxi driver and the exasperated controller who is trying to direct her to a waiting fare. Troublingly, the driver doesn't seem to know where she is located or what Victoria Station is...
A Kind Of Alaska is a masterly study of a middle-aged woman waking up from a coma after 29 years. She thinks she is still a teenager and her attempt to understand her changed world is poignant and emotionally charged.
