The Critic is a story of ambition, blackmail and desire, with a dazzling anti-hero at its dark heart. Directed by Anand Tucker, it stars Ian McKellen as the acerbic but brilliant literary critic, Jimmy Erskine, whose sharp wit and biting reviews have made him both feared and revered in the 1930s literary community.
